WORLD PREMIERE
together with The
Nazarene Experience
10110 Technology Blvd. E. Dallas, TX 75220
Opening: October 2023
Discovering Jesus – Ancient Treasures from the Holy Land is an unprecedented international production that brings together archaeology and technology, science and faith, past and present. It transports visitors to the Holy Land 2,000 years ago to meet the people, events, and stories of the New Testament — and to experience the greatest story ever told — in a way never before possible.
Visitors will be amazed by genuine items and holy artifacts from the time of Jesus, recently found in excavations in the Holy Land (Israel), including items that were used by the people who walked with Jesus, heard His teachings, and witnessed His miracles. These are combined with state-of-the-art technologies that together offer new perspectives on the stories of the New Testament, the world of Jesus and his teachings, and early Christianity.
These artifacts of historical, religious, and scientific significance are among some of the world’s most important discoveries of all times.
Featuring:
- The bone box of Yaakov (James) brother of Jesus, one of the most prominent figures in the history of Christianity who is mentioned repeatedly in the New Testament. The bone box contains the earliest mention of Jesus ever discovered and the only archeological artifact that refers to Jesus’ family.
- A bone box that is attributed to St. Zechariah, father of John the Baptist.
- the earliest artistic rendering of the nativity (from the 4th century AD)
- the earliest and possibly the only artistic depiction of the Temple of Jerusalem, dated to the time of Jesus, 1st century AD.
- the earliest model of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre (the Tomb of Jesus) in Jerusalem
- Hundreds of other items discovered in the sites where Jesus and his disciples lived.
Bridging faith and science, this exciting experience and exhibition introduces visitors to these important items in a friendly, accessible manner, and is a fascinating “must experience” for people of any age and faith.
